going home
happy thanksgiving, our turkey friends!
we are happy to say that we have been discharged from the hospital & are flying home tomorrow. we made it out of the hospital in time to catch the tail end of our cousin’s thanksgiving dinner! it was such a treat to see loved ones & eat some really good food at the same time. they are just a few blocks away from where we are staying, so honestly there couldn’t be a more perfect set-up. we are very grateful.
unlike last time, lewis’ fluid input/output has been stable ever since surgery, which is a huge blessing and allowed us to be discharged earlier. we are just monitoring his pain levels & his incision healing. he has been such a tough guy & is back to his happy self. he was verrrry happy to get out of the hospital today! since then, we have been at the campus housing & they have been taking great care of us. we are planning on enjoying a walk around the mission bay area tomorrow morning & then heading home.
it is tough to see the incision on lewis’ head. prayer request for now would be that it heals well, fluids stay stable, & no complications with lewis’ recovery. we hope that he has a smooth recovery, even better than last time. his incision healed beautifully last time! we will keep an eye on how he is doing & then restart his chemo treatment this next week when we get home.
we hope you all had a lovely thanksgiving! thank you all for supporting us through this surgery - it has been so exhausting & we are looking forward to getting back home.
